When a recently divorced single mother gets romantically involved with her neighbour, she doesn't realise that their separation will reveal the young man's dark side, as indicated by the movie's first trailer.
Clean cut and well-mannered, Noah seems at first to be the proverbial "boy next door", at least until the woman played by Jennifer Lopez discovers otherwise.
After what she sees as a passing fling with the seductive young man, played by Ryan Guzman, she decides to end their relationship. But rather than taking a hint, he turns to manipulation and violence.
